Elders

	David Cauwels, Elder (Missions) Dave and his wife, Charlotte, have been members of Hoffmantown Church since 1963. They have three children and six grandchildren. Dave is founder and retired chairman of Cauwels and Associates, a development company in New Mexico, and president of H.A. Simpson Associates, a Colorado-based development company. Dave is a graduate of Houghton College and earned a Master’s degree from Denver Seminary. He has a heart for missions and is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Navigators, Prison Fellowship Ministry, Christianity Today and World Wide Pictures. Dave and Charlotte both have teaching and discipling ministries.
	David McKinney, Elder (Deacons, Pastoral and Women’s Ministries) Dave is married to Tess. He’s a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Tucson Medical Center. Dave accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in June, 1982. He’s been a member of Hoffmantown Church for 27 years. Dave has been a trainer and teacher of Christian Witness Training, Chairman of Deacons, Connection group leader, usher, greeter, and involved in the Response Room and Care Group Ministry. He’s also involved with the Winston Country Church in the ranching community of Southwest New Mexico.
	Bill Hooten, Elder (Finance & Adults Ministry) Bill graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 1958. He married Phyllis Sims from Carlisle, Arkansas, an UCA graduate in 1958. Bill moved to New Mexico in 1961 to begin his career in the real estate business. Hooten-Stahl, Realtors was formed in 1967 and became the 55th largest real estate company. The company subsequently sold in 2001 to Coldwell Banker. Bill also founded Charter Building and Development in 1970 and developed many of Albuquerque’s subdivisions. Charter was one of the top 10 builders in Albuquerque for many years and was sold in May, 2007. Phyllis and Bill joined Hoffmantown Church in 1978 and were involved in the development of the present location of the church. He taught the high school seniors of Hoffmantown for approximately 7 years and presently teaches an adult connection class.
	Jim Smith, Elder (Children and Prayer Ministries) Jim started coming to Hoffmantown in 1956 at the “old” location. He accepted Christ at an early age but finally gave his life to Him in 1972 at a small local church where he eventually served as an elder. Returning to Hoffmantown in 1992, Jim has taught an adult connection class since returning and served in many ministries. Married to Vicki since 1969, they have a son (Scott) who is married (Rachel) with two children (Morgan and Roman) and a daughter (Heidi) who is married (Brett) with two children (Hailey and Aubrey). Scott and Rachel are in England (Scott is an Air Force pilot) and Heidi and Brett are here in Albuquerque (both are members at Hoffmantown). Jim works at Sandia National Laboratories and is an avid golfer.
	Trey Waring, Elder (High School and College Ministry) Trey has been a member of Hoffmantown since 1979 and has been involved in the Student Ministry here since the 80s. In fact, he met his wife, Dee, at Hoffmantown in 1988 as she was leading the 10th grade girls. Shortly thereafter he became a deacon at Hoffmantown. Trey is on the Finance Committee and he and Dee are still active in youth ministry including leading a DGroup at their home on Monday nights. They also help lead a Young Life group for Sandia High School. Trey has coached little league football and track for years. They have three kids, Maggie (1992), Mitch (1993) and Trevor (1997). Maggie is also a DGroup leader for the Watson’s DGroup. Trey is a graduate of Albuquerque Academy and Baylor University. He is COO/CFO for Ameritest, which is an advertising and communications research company that provides consulting services to major, national advertisers. Dee teaches Biology and Chemistry at CNM.
	Jeff Watson, Elder (Mid-School and Young Marrieds Ministries) Jeff has been married to Juliette since 1992, and they have two boys, Nathanael born in 1995, and Lucas born in 1998. He grew up in Texas where he attended Texas A&M University and subsequently finished his degree at Colorado State University. He moved to Albuquerque in 1991, and has been a member of Hoffmantown ever since. He has been in the real estate/development business since that time. Jeff and Juliette have served in almost every aspect here at Hoffmantown from the Children’s Ministry to the many adult ministries offered at Hoffmantown. Jeff has a passion for the outdoors and has a heart to see people experience freedom in Christ. Isaiah 61 particularly resonates with Jeff.
