Women’s Ministry

Jan Silvious Conference
Mark your calendars for this exciting Women’s Ministry event Friday and Saturday, February 8 and 9, 2008. Jan speaks nationally and internationally in conferences and seminars. Her practical, bottom-line teaching meets women where they are. She has spoken for Moody Founder’s week, Moody Women’s Conferences, Precept Ministries’ National Convention, and Women of Faith. She has also spoken for numerous women’s events and church conferences across the country. To find out more about Jan, visit her website at www.jansilvious.com. Tickets are on sale now in the Fellowship Mall! Tickets for the Friday Night Leadership Encouragement are $10, and $20 for the Saturday Women’s Conference. Christmas Special: Purchase both tickets before December 31 for $25...a great gift idea!

New Winter Study!
Following the Jan Silvious Conference in February, we are going to jump into one of her most popular studies with Fool-proofing Your Life. Learn to deal with the difficult people in your life in a God honoring way through the wisdom found in the book of Proverbs. Join us the week of February 12, 2008 as the 6-week study sessions begin.

If you missed Devotions with Diana or The R Factor earlier this month, CDs will be available in the LRC.

General Announcements

Holiday Basket Blessings
Hoffmantown Church is now accepting applications for our Christmas Holiday Basket Blessing. If your family, or a family you know, is in need of food assistance for a holiday meal, the Christmas Holiday Basket Blessing may be the answer. Our holiday basket will consist of canned foods that will enable a family to dine together and celebrate the holidays. Holiday basket applications may be picked up from the receptionist during normal business hours. The application deadline is 12pm, Monday, December 3. Each applicant will be interviewed by Pastor Dave Eustis. Applicants chosen may pick up Holiday Baskets on Tuesday, December 11, from 1 to 4pm, or Wednesday, December 12, from 4 to 7pm.

LLL Meeting
Our next Triple L meeting will be November 26 at 10am in room B208. Garth Myers will be presenting missionary information from Spain. He and his wife Joyce were church planters in Spain for 10 years. There is also word out that he might entertain you with guitar music!

Hoffmantown Open House
Please join us from 3 to 6pm on Thursday, December 13, upstairs in the office wing and downstairs in the Children’s and Student’s wing, as we bring our Hoffmantown community together to share a time of Christian fellowship and enjoy wonderful holiday refreshments. This is a great opportunity for you to meet and visit with our entire church staff.

Life Resource Center
Finally, a Bible cover to fit the popular Backpack Bible! Available in five great colors, this Bible cover is a perfect fit for Backpack Bibles, compact Bibles, and many of the kid’s Bibles including the Precious Moments and Small Hands Bibles your child may have received at baptism or baby dedication. From kid-friendly neon green and pink to the traditional black, blue and burgundy, this cover makes a great gift for all ages.  Kids love to carry their Bibles to church just like Mom and Dad, and now you can protect their Bible with one of the new compact covers from the Life Resource Center, Hoffmantown’s bookstore.

Personal Ministry Opportunities

Technical Ministry
The Technical Ministry is in need of some gifted individuals for the following positions: floor directors–eyes and ears for the director during services; engineer–prepare all broadcast and recording equipment for Sunday morning services and operate camera adjustment controls during services; technical directors–switch video content using a video switcher for worship services; TV audio mixer–mix the audio for the television broadcast recording.

Each position serves once a month for both services. Please be in prayer about these opportunities to serve the body at Hoffmantown. If you have any of these gifts, or know of someone who does, we need to hear from you ASAP. Call Brian White at 858-8645 or email him at brianw@hoffmantown.org.
