Hoffmantown Church in partnership with the Great Commission Alliance presents the Discipleship Conference, “Engage 2018: Equipping Believers to Defend the Faith with Confidence.” The Conference will powerfully equip you with the tools you need to address the doubts you encounter, assist believers who waiver, and answer the objections of skeptics. In addition to the training sessions, you’ll also receive an apologetics workbook that will help you continue growing in your faith long after the conference.

Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Gary Habermas
Dr. Gary Habermas is the author or co-author of more than 40 books and 100 articles and reviews in journals and magazines. He has given over 1500 lectures in universities, seminaries, and colleges all over the world and is ‘Distinguished Research Professor and Chair’ in the Department of Philosophy and Theology at Liberty University, where he has taught for 30 years. He holds a PhD in History and Philosophy of Religion from Michigan State University as well as an MA in Philosophical Theology from the University of Detroit.
Dr. Habermas has dedicated his professional life to the examination of the relevant historical, philosophical, and theological issues surrounding the death and resurrection of Jesus. His extensive publications provide a thorough account of the issue. Christian believers as well as unbelievers will find his presentation a strong argument for the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus, as well as it’s theological and practical implications.

The conference will also include Q&A sessions with some of the world’s top Christian apologists: Dr. Craig Evans, Dr. Michael Brown, Dr. Frank Turek, and Dr. Craig Blomberg who will be joining us via live stream to answer questions on a range of important topics. If you would like to submit a question for our speakers to answer during the Q&A time, please email your question to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please understand that due to time constraints, our speakers may not be able to answer every question that is submitted. You won’t want to miss this incredible opportunity to grow in your faith!
This is a Free Event
There is no cost to attend the conference, however, we will be breaking for lunch and you can either buy a lunch for $5 or bring your own. Meal tickets are available in the Hoffmantown Life Resource Center or you can register for the conference and purchase a lunch ticket by clicking on the button below. Meal tickets need to be purchased by Wednesday, February 28th.

Dr. Craig A. Evans, BA, MA, MDiv, PhD, DHabil, John Bisagno Distinguished Professor of Christian Origins at Houston Theological Seminary
Dr. Evans is a New Testament scholar, prolific author, and popular teacher/speaker, Craig A. Evans is well-known for his contribution to work on the Gospels, the Historical Jesus, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and archaeology of the New Testament. He regularly appears in documentaries, TV, and radio interviews. He lectures extensively and participates in archaeological digs and Holy Land tours.
For decades, his engaging style in live events, teaching, media, and the written word has brought the Bible to life for countless students, popular audiences, and seekers.

Dr. Frank Turek is president of CrossExamined.org and the host of an hour-long TV program each week called “I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist”
Dr. Turek is a dynamic speaker and award-winning author or coauthor of four books: Stealing from God: Why Atheists Need God to make their Case, I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist, Correct, Not Politically Correct and Legislating Morality.
As the President of CrossExamined.org, Frank presents powerful and entertaining evidence for Christianity at churches, high schools and at secular college campuses that often begin hostile to his message. Dr. Michael Brown is president of FIRE School of Ministry, Director of the Coalition of Conscience, and host of the daily, nationally, syndicated talk radio show, the Line of Fire, as well as the host of the apologetics TV show, “Answering Your Toughest Questions,” which airs on the NRB TV network.
Dr. Brown has preached throughout the United States and in more than twenty nations and has written twenty books on revival, holiness, radical discipleship, and Jewish-Christian issues, along with scholarly works in Old Testament and Hebrew studies.
Dr. Craig Blomberg joined the faculty of Denver Seminary in 1986. He is currently a distinguished professor of New Testament.
He completed his PhD in New Testament, specializing in the parables and the writings of Luke-Acts, at Aberdeen University in Scotland. He received an MA from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a BA from Augustana College. Before joining the faculty of Denver Seminary, he taught at Palm Beach Atlantic College and was a research fellow in Cambridge, England with Tyndale House.
Dr. Blomberg has authored or edited 20 books, including The Historical Reliability of the Gospels. His areas of Academic Interest and Research include the historical trustworthiness of Scripture, hermeneutics and exegetical method.
