Welcome to the Women’s Ministry
at Hoffmantown Church!

The heartbeat of Women’s Ministry is that of personal investment. We want to encourage you to make an investment in yourself, but also in the lives of women around you; next door neighbors, friends at the gym and coworkers. Our desire is to support your investment on several levels:

Invest and Equip:
Hoffmantown is an equipping church where the Bible is taught for the purpose of allowing God’s Spirit to transform our lives. We offer various opportunities for you and your friends to join in meaningful and applicable Bible Study.

Invest and Invite:
Our Hospitality Outreach events are designed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where God’s Word is presented in a relevant way to you and those you invite.

Invest and Encourage:
In the Christian life we are to love and encourage one another through God’s enabling power in our lives. Intentional one on one relationships often serve as the means of effective Christ centered encouragement.

INVEST and ENCOURAGE

Girls’ Ministry
Today’s teenage and college age girls face complex and pressing issues to perform, achieve, pursue beauty at any cost, deal with sexual temptations and abuse to name a few. Girls have more rights, freedoms and opportunities than ever before but with these things they face a growing number of problems deeply rooted in being female in today’s society. Titus 2 is very clear in its mandate that older women teach, nurture and encourage younger women. The church is strategically positioned to effectively fill this role in the lives of girls in this generation. In the months ahead, Women’s Ministry will be working alongside the Student and College Ministries to connect girls with women in meaningful ways through the Connect The Dots Prayer Ministry, events and mother/daughter classes. Watch the Compass for details on upcoming events and ministries. Young or older, if you would like to minister with us, please call or email Dianne Christensen at 858-8625 or diannec@hoffmantown.org.

Shepherding
Life is often hard and we all experience seasons of pain. Shepherding is an intentional one on one relationship where women walk with one another and seek answers to life issues through Biblical encouragement, prayer and fellowship. If you desire personal encouragement from God’s Word or would like more information on Shepherding, please call Barb Mulvey at 858-8674.

Community Connection with Crossroads
We have enjoyed a great community partnership between the Women of Hoffmantown and Crossroads for Women, a local agency that serves women desiring to break the cycle of homelessness and incarceration to achieve healthy, stable and self-sufficient lives for themselves and their children. In the fall it was our privilege to do a Coat Drive and create Thanksgiving baskets for our friends at Crossroads. If you would like to spend some time in social settings with the Crossroads clients in the months ahead, call Heather Zimny for more information at 858-8633 or e-mail heatherz@hoffmantown.org.

Mentoring
In today’s busy world the need for caring, supportive and encouraging friendships has never been greater. Heart to Heart Mentoring offers an opportunity to let Jesus be Jesus in and through your lives. It requires no special talent beyond a heart that is yielded to the leadership of the Holy Spirit in loving and encouraging one another together in the Lord. If you are interested in either becoming a mentor or being mentored, plan to attend the next informational coffee on Tuesday, January 29 at 6:30pm. For more information, pick up a brochure in the Fellowship Mall or call Bettye Bobroff at 299-1610 or Mary McPeters at 293-1883.

Titus 2 Series: MaRRiage – The R Factor
Ephesians 5:33 contains a very important factor in building up, edifying and encouraging our husbands. With our plates often full, our schedules tight, sometimes caring and nurturing our marriage is last on the list. Stop by the LRC and pick up the CDs from previous R Factor seminars and learn what the Bible has to say about effectively communicating Godly respect to your spouse on a daily basis.

Make plans to break away with your husband from the weekend routine on Saturday, January 19 from 9:00am – 3:30pm to attend A Growing Marriage Conference with Gary Chapman. For more information, contact Amy Cook at 858-8620 or email amyc@hoffmantown.org.

Moms in Touch
Moms In Touch International is a group of moms who meet for one hour each week to pray for their children, schools, teachers, administrators, and Hoffmantown’s children and student ministries. Prayer times begin Tuesday, January 15 from 7:00 – 8:00pm at Hoffmantown Church in Room B104. For more information, contact Becky Harris at 858-8654 or email beckyh@hoffmantown.org.

Living Grace Relationship Groups for Women: The Wounded Heart A conservative estimate indicates that 38% of all women have been sexually abused by the time they reach the age of 18. This study for women reaches deep into the wounded heart, exploring the secret lament of the soul damaged by sexual abuse – while offering the hope of God’s healing. For more information or to register, call Kathy Tesch at 858-8650 or Barb Mulvey at 858-8674. NEW TIME! Thursday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00pm,
January 24 –May 1.

New Mexico Women in Ministry
New Mexico Women in Ministry is a community ministry to women in leadership (active or on sabbatical) serving their sisters in Christ in a variety of ministry settings. Informal meetings are held three times a year for the purpose of spiritual encouragement and fellowship in order to develop a leadership community that serves and nurtures one another. If you serve in leadership from Sunday School teacher to Worship Leader to Bible Study Facilitator, plan to join us on Tuesday, February 26 from 11:30am – 1:00pm at Sagebrush Church. Bring your own lunch! Drinks and dessert will be provided.
