Family Dedication

Hoffmantown performs a Family Dedication twice a year on Mother’s Day and the Sunday following Thanksgiving.

On these two Sundays, Hoffmantown Church provides a special Parent-Child Commitment Service. During this service you will have the opportunity to commit yourselves to bringing up your child(ren) in the discipline and instruction of our Lord. As a church family, we commit ourselves to share the responsibility of providing Christian nurturing to you and your children.

“...and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”

11 Timothy 3:15

We are now accepting registrations for our May 5th, 2019 Family Dedication. The registration flyer can be picked up at the main check-in counter in the Children’s wing of the Church. Parent / Child Commitment Purpose and Policies

Purpose:
To provide an opportunity for parents to dedicate their baby and family to the Lord.
“And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord .” Luke 2:22

To provide an opportunity for our church to commit to partner with our parents and assist them in laying a strong spiritual foundation for their child.
6 “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Policies:
Families with children 12 years and younger may participate in the Parent/Child Commitment. Some families may choose to participate after the birth of each child.
Only the parents are allowed to stand with their children. Grandparents, friends and other family members may sit anywhere in the Worship Center as they share in this special time.

The Parent/Child Commitment is:

  • An opportunity to thank God for the precious gift of your child.
  • An opportunity to publicly declare your desire to raise your child in a Christian home.
  • A benchmark you can return to time and time again to remember your commitment and measure your progress.
  • A family dedication, where the parents commit themselves to abide by biblical principles and to raise their children according to God’s standards
