Transition Team Update (November 16, 2018)

Pastor Joe Long’s message this Lord’s Day will be “Three Christian Attitudes” – I Thessalonians  5:16-18

Our Fall Festival was a tremendous success. We had approximately 1,000 attending. Our Evangelism team interacted with 117 people and of those 37 were receptive to knowing more about the Lord. This past week the team began follow up with these individuals and found them to be open to discussing spiritual issues and knowing more about Hoffmantown Church. Pray for this witness to be fruitful for the Kingdom.

The process has been completed for adding new sub-team members: Tara Chavez for Communications and Gayle Cilvik and Jeff McElwain for Ministerial. Each of these will bring valuable talent and knowledge to these teams.

Your response to the questionnaire from the Purpose/Mission/Vision Team has been amazing! You have until November 19 to submit your response.

THE STORM–TOSSED FAMILY: How the Cross Reshapes the Home by Russell Moore

The family makes us and the family breaks us. It is the source of celebrations and tragedies. Our highest joys and our deepest pains typically come from our families. Most of us are part of a family, in one way or another. Dr. Russell Moore offers an interesting and comprehensive, theological perspective on all aspects of family as a reflection of the gospel. This is a thought-provoking book that will leave you thinking about your family in the light of the cross, the influences, the blessings, and the sufferings, whether your immediate family, your extended family, or your church family. The Storm-Tossed Family looks at marriage, divorce, children, your own mother and father, aging, and how God uses all of it in His plan of redemption.

The LRC will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, November 20 and 21, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
