GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays

Need help in surviving the upcoming holidays? Recovering from the loss of a loved one is a complex process and can be especially painful during the holiday season. Hoffmantown Church is presenting the GriefShare Surviving the Holidays seminar which presents practical holiday survival tips for those navigating loss during a time others are celebrating. The class will be this Tuesday, December 3 in room B100 from 6:30-8:30pm. There is no charge for the class, but an RSVP to Tabitha at 858-8624 or is requested.

Join the JOY!

Here’s your chance to be part of our Christmas Tradition at Hoffmantown. Our beautiful Nativity Gallery is a joyful part of our annual Christmas Season Musical weekend. Dozens and dozens of treasured nativity sets are brought in and displayed for all to see, appreciate and enjoy, this year on December 13, 14 and 15. And you’re invited to bring your own favorite nativity set, creche or treasured manger scene and be part of the celebration. It’s such a joy to watch parents and grandparents guide their little ones through the displays, helping to explain the true meaning of Christmas, as they enjoy cookies, hot cider and yuletide fellowship. Each treasured set is accompanied by a written description and explanation recounting how it was acquired, where in the world it came from, what special significance or Christmas message is remembered every year. All those in our church family, K-Groups, Children’s and Student ministries are encouraged to bring your favorite nativity set to display and share—the more, the merrier! Make it a class project and “Join the Joy!” For more information, contact Tabitha Baker at 858-8624 or

The Running Man: Flying High for the Glory of God by Orville Rogers

Pilot and world champion runner Orville Rogers broke two world records at his first national meet in 2008. He was 90 years old. During his 60-year career in flight, he trained WWII fighter pilots, carried out secret missions during the Cold War, and ferried airplanes for jungle missionaries across the oceans. His is a life of challenge and risk, marked by tragic losses and remarkable successes. At every turn, he is guided by God and motivated by a passionate desire to serve Him.
