Compass – 12/30/18

Transition Team Update (December 28, 2018)

This Sunday, Pastor Joe Long’s message will be on “New Beginnings”

– Genesis 35:1-5.

Two Sunday’s ago, Nate Herbst presented the Purpose, Vision, Mission statements we believe the Lord led us to as a church body:

  • Purpose:            To know, love and proclaim Him.
  • Vision:                Aligned with Jesus, defined by His love and united in His work.
  • Mission:             Loving Him, loving others and fulfilling His Great Commission.

Please keep the Purpose, Vision, Mission Sub-team in prayer as they follow God’s leading on how we will get to put these statements into action.

November Month-End Update from the Finance Council

(Our fiscal year starts in July)

November Actuals              YTD Actuals

Receipts / Income              $226,429                               $1,143,973

Expenses                               $205,201                               $1,173,159

Difference                            $  21,228                               $   -29,186

November receipts (contributions and income) exceeded our expenses by $21K for the month. Praise the Lord! At the same time, our YTD actual receipts– when compared to our actual expenses– fell short 29K. Through November, our actual contributions are running 149K less than the same time last year. Please ask the Lord what part you can play to help us recover / move beyond our short-fall. Also, thank the Lord for blessing us so much last year that we have been sustained during the recent downward trend in giving. Thank you for your on-going, faithful giving to the Lord through Hoffmantown Church. Any time you have questions, please feel free to contact the church at 828-2600 to have one of the Finance Council members (Debra Atencio, Kathy Dodson, Robert Ewing, Chris Messina, Bill Talbott or Laurie Wallis) or Chris Branan contact you.
