Dorothy Rolfs and Pastor John just returned from East Texas serving tornado victims. The small chainsaw crew (2 men, 5 women) completed 5 home sites, cut down 50+ trees, but more importantly, 5 people surrendered their lives to Christ, and 9 people were restored in their faith. Praise the Lord and thank you for supporting Mission here through your prayers and giving.

Special Day of Prayer for the Office of the President June 2

(1 Timothy 2:1-3, Ephesians 6:12)

Franklin Graham, President of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, is asking followers of Christ to pray for the Office of The President of the United States of America this Sunday, June 2. This is a critical time for America as we need to pray for God to intervene, to protect, strengthen, encourage, and guide our nation’s authorities. We know God hears and answers prayer. He is all-powerful, and He rules over the affairs of nations. We will be praying specifically during the time of prayer in the service this Sunday, but please join other followers of Christ as individuals, as families or with others during the day to pray.

Free for the Taking

In the East parking lot, there are woodchips and stacked fire wood. If you have a need for either of these, please feel free to come by and pick them up.

AWE: Why it Matters for Everything We Think, Say, and Do by Paul Tripp

The truth is, we were all created for awe. We were all made to be struck by the infinite goodness and glory of God but as a result of the fall of humanity into sin, we run after awe from lesser sources and they always come up short.  We give our heart to the worship of the thing that has been made rather than the One who made it—spending when we don’t really have a need, envying what someone else has, or eating when we’re not really hungry. We all need to spend more time gazing upon the awesome beauty of our Lord so that our hearts will remember and be rescued. In his latest book, Awe, author Paul Tripp redirects our gaze to God’s awe-inducing glory, and shows how such a vision has the potential to impact our every thought, word, and deed.
