Pastoral Search Team
Last Sunday, the PST reported that our most recent pastoral candidate felt that God was not leading him to Hoffmantown. It was disappointing, but we remain confident that God has yet to reveal His best choice for us. We are already anticipating an interview with another viable candidate. We ask that everyone in the congregation earnestly join us in prayer for discernment. We hope that you will make time for, “At 6pm we pray! Each and every day!” (Proverbs 2:1-5)
We are looking forward to seeing you again this Sunday at 9:30am as you feel comfortable attending! There are some things we would like you to keep in mind for the safety of the congregation. First, masks are mandatory by everyone attending on-site, per the governor’s orders. We also ask that you continue practicing social distancing habits by maintaining 6 feet distance between family groups; as you take your seats in the worship center, please keep three (3) empty seats in between family groups. We will be doing our part to keep our building sanitized; please do your part by washing your hands often for at least 20 seconds. For more information and a list of frequently asked questions concerning our reopening plan, visit www.hoffmantownchurch.org/reopen.
We understand that many of you may not feel comfortable or may have concerns about returning, and we want you to know that there is absolutely no pressure for you to attend on-site until you feel ready. We would encourage you to continue to be discerning if you are in a higher-risk category. If you currently have any symptoms or have been around anyone with coronavirus recently, we ask that you please stay home and watch online until you are free from symptoms or exposure to COVID-19.
We will continue to stream our service live on Hoffmantown.Online, Facebook, and YouTube, and we’d love for you to join us on any of those platforms. For those that decide to join us in person, we look forward to seeing you again!

The curriculum will cover history, doctrine, philosophy of ministry, and the membership process of Hoffmantown. Lunch will be provided with the Elders, Pastors and staff in attendance. 2020/2021 Budget and PPP Approval
Thank you, Hoffmantown Church Family, for your patience and participation in our initial venture into opening the church operational budget to a full membership vote. Both the proposed budget for FY2020-2021 and the PPP proposal passed. 243 church members voted on the budget question and it passed with 91.4% voting for passage. 239 church members voted on the PPP question with 81.2% voting for passage. Both issues required a two-thirds majority of voting members present for the vote to pass. Please recall that the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated that we adjust our voting procedures this year. We hope to return to in-person voting next year per the bylaws. The Finance Committee and Church Staff thank you for your vote and participation.
Please join us in The Lord’s Supper July 26. We will be using self-contained cups and wafers that will be distributed as you enter the Worship Center. At this time, gluten-free wafers will be unavailable.
ADULT FAMILY MINISTRIES
Tuesday Afternoons is a time for widows and widowers to come together and study the Word of God, pray together and join each other in fellowship and fun. Currently, we are having this event as a Zoom meeting. Our next Zoom get-together is on Tuesday July 14 from 1:30-3pm. For questions, or if you don’t have the Zoom link, please contact email@example.com or 858-8633.
Daily Prayer Reminder
Remember “At 6pm we pray! Each and every day!” We are praying for our new pastor, our pastor search team, and our church family. This is one way we can pray together as a church body during this time of sheltering in place.
Life Group- Overcomer Women’s Summer Study
Many people feel they are less than who God says they are. We get our identity from our careers, our political positions, family roles in the family, and other things. This small group study uses clips from the film Overcomer to examine how we determine our identity and how we can find our true identity in Christ. Join us Wednesday, July 1 thru Wednesday, July 29 via Zoom at 6:30pm on Wednesday nights. Register with firstname.lastname@example.org or 858-8624. You will need the workbook and your Bible.
STUDENT & FAMILY MINISTRIES
Vacation Bible School Update
We are changing over to a Family Style Evening VBS on the nights of July 27, 29, 31 6:30-8pm on Mission Field for families with kids 3 years-8th grade. (Younger and Older Siblings are welcome, but will not receive a craft pack.) Safety is always our priority for Kids events at Hoffmantown. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we do not believe we can safely perform VBS in the method we normally do. During this VBS, each child must have an adult with them at all times. Families will be sitting together and all the teaching, game directing, music, etc. will be done from a stage. So, we no longer need class specific volunteers, but we do have a need for people to help with check-in, set-up/ tear-down, greeting, and safety crew. If you are able to serve, please contact Sarah Goodrich at 858-8601 or email@example.com. Registration and more information can be found at https://www.hoffmantownchurch.org/vbs/.
In preparation for Vacation Bible School, we are planning a workday Saturday, July 25 to spruce up the Mission Field. We will do general cleanup and pull weeds from the gravel areas. We’ll get started at 7:30am and finish by 10am. Doughnuts will be provided! If you have a pickup truck, we will need 4 to 5 to haul weeds and clippings to the dump. Please bring work gloves, sun screen, shovels, rakes, and loppers (we may tackle a couple of small trees). No need to RSVP, please just come and join us. Thank you for considering serving our church body in this way.
All Aboard Kids Express!
Our school year will be filled with thrilling learning experiences and there are sure to be growing opportunities around each bend! It’s not too late to register, but we have limited space still available. Please drop off your registration packet at the front Receptionist Desk of Hoffmantown Church Monday-Thursday from 8am-4pm. For more information, contact Darlene Dickson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 858-8602.
Albuquerque God’s Talent Show
The talent show has been rescheduled for Friday, July 10 at 7pm in the Worship Center! In March, ten mid-high school kids were chosen to compete in the Janow’s Talent Show. Their time to shine has come, so please join us and help support these talented kids of Albuquerque! For more information on the event visit hoffmantownchurch.org/events.

At Large Members: Jeni Civerolo, Robert Ewing, Steve Gnerich, Gwen Hughes, Kirby Jefferson and Patricia Rogers
Thank you to our 41 Deacons and their teams who do so much for the Lord and His church at Hoffmantown. Did you know that they have formed teams that visit the home bound and hospital patients, provide ushers each Sunday, greet you at the door on Sunday, visit our visitors, drive the shuttle carts, and provide alert and vigilant security for the campus, and provide disaster relief, among all of the other ways they serve us with kindness? You can see who your Deacons are at https://www.hoffmantownchurch.org/deacon-ministry/. If you sense a calling from the Lord to become a Deacon at Hoffmantown Church, or would like to nominate someone, please contact Wil Martin, Chairman of Deacons at Wilruth2@msn.com.
The Church Council is accepting nominees for two at-large council members, as two of us will be rotating off the council after the September Annual Church Meeting. If you are interested, or you would like to nominate another member of Hoffmantown in being on the Church Council please let us know at email@example.com of your interest.
