Pastoral Search Team

The PST is amazed at how God’s grace continues to be poured out on us as a team. We have been blessed to see many quality pastors come our way. We are starting early deliberations with our next candidate. We ask for prayer that God will uncover our ears and help us to hear His still small voice as He identifies the man He has chosen. We are grateful for what God has taught us from past experience. Please pray that we remain teachable and yielded to His will. (Isaiah 28:23)

COVID-19 Update

We are looking forward to seeing you again this Sunday at 9:30am as you feel comfortable attending! There are some things we would like you to keep in mind for the safety of the congregation. First, masks are mandatory by everyone attending on-site, per the governor’s orders. We also ask that you continue practicing social distancing habits by maintaining 6 feet distance between family groups; as you take your seats in the worship center, please keep three (3) empty seats in between family groups. We will be doing our part to keep our building sanitized; please do your part by washing your hands often for at least 20 seconds. For more information and a list of frequently asked questions concerning our reopening plan, visit

We understand that many of you may not feel comfortable or may have concerns about returning, and we want you to know that there is absolutely no pressure for you to attend on-site until you feel ready. We would encourage you to continue to be discerning if you are in a higher-risk category. If you currently have any symptoms or have been around anyone with coronavirus recently, we ask that you please stay home and watch online until you are free from symptoms or exposure to COVID-19.

We will continue to stream our service live on Hoffmantown.OnlineFacebook, and YouTube, and we’d love for you to join us on any of those platforms. For those that decide to join us in person, we look forward to seeing you again!

Next Steps Class LAST CALL

This is the LAST CALL for registration for next Sunday’s Next Steps class presented at 9:30am-1:30pm. Next Steps is a one-session look at Hoffmantown’s history, doctrine, philosophy of ministry, and the membership process. Materials and meal will be provided. Please contact us after the service TODAY at for more information or to register.

Lord’s Supper

Please join us in The Lord’s Supper July 26. We will be using self-contained cups and wafers that will be distributed as you enter the Worship Center. At this time, gluten-free wafers will be unavailable.

Daily Prayer Reminder

Remember “At 6pm we pray! Each and every day!” We are praying for our new pastor, our pastor search team, and our church family. This is one way we can pray together as a church body during this time of sheltering in place.

Vacation Bible School Update

We are changing over to a Family Style Evening VBS on the nights of July 27, 29, 31 6:30-8pm on Mission Field for families with kids 3 years-8th grade. (Younger and Older Siblings are welcome, but will not receive a craft pack.) Safety is always our priority for Kids events at Hoffmantown. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we do not believe we can safely perform VBS in the method we normally do. During this VBS, each child must have an adult with them at all times.  Families will be sitting together and all the teaching, game directing, music, etc. will be done from a stage. So, we no longer need class specific volunteers, but we do have a need for people to help with check-in, set-up/ tear-down, greeting, and safety crew. If you are able to serve, please contact Sarah Goodrich at 858-8601 or Registration and more information can be found at

Church Workday
In preparation for Vacation Bible School, we are planning a workday Saturday, July 25 to spruce up the Mission Field. We will do general cleanup and pull weeds from the gravel areas. We’ll get started at 7:30am and finish by 10am. Doughnuts will be provided! If you have a pickup truck, we will need 4 to 5 to haul weeds and clippings to the dump. Please bring work gloves, sun screen, shovels, rakes, and loppers (we may tackle a couple of small trees). No need to RSVP, please just come and join us. Thank you for considering serving our church body in this way.

All Aboard Kids Express!

Our school year will be filled with thrilling learning experiences and there are sure to be growing opportunities around each bend! Nominations for Church Council

The Church Council is soliciting nominations for two at-large Church Council members (1 man and 1 woman) who will serve 3-year terms and will be voted on at the Annual Church meeting, September 27, 2020. They will replace two of the Church Council members who will be rotating off the council. Nominations will be accepted through August 23, 2020. If you are interested, or you would like to nominate another member of Hoffmantown, include name and contact information for nominee and nominator. Explain why they are appropriate to serve and indicate their willingness to serve. Send to or submit a paper nomination that is available at the Receptionist Desk.

“Qualifications for Council membership are based upon the character qualities similar to those found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and Colossians 3:5-25, with the exception of gender references, and with consideration given to specific expertise in specialized areas.” (Excerpt from the Bylaws, Article V, Section 5). In addition, the member must have demonstrated faithful service to the Lord and participation in Hoffmantown Church. It is recommended that they have been members for at least five years.
