CHURCH-WIDE ANNOUNCEMENTS

This Week’s Worship Service (July 26, 2020)

Today, Claude Cone will preach about “The Lord’s Supper” (Matthew 26:26-29 and 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Today’s songs will be All Creatures of Our God and King

by Tommy Walker & Sean Beck, and What A Beautiful Name by Ben Fielding and Brooke Ligertwood.

Pastoral Search Team

The PST would like to thank everyone who is holding us up in prayer, especially at 6pm Monday night, when we met with the pastoral candidate. We will be processing the results of our interview this week. We are earnestly seeking God’s direction as are he and his wife. We love to envision your many whispers of prayer being offered on our behalf. (Romans 5:5)

COVID-19 Update

We are looking forward to seeing you again this Sunday at 9:30am as you feel comfortable attending! There are some things we would like you to keep in mind for the safety of the congregation. First, masks are mandatory by everyone attending on-site, per the governor’s orders. We also ask that you continue practicing social distancing habits by maintaining 6 feet distance between family groups; as you take your seats in the worship center, please keep three (3) empty seats in between family groups. We will be doing our part to keep our building sanitized; please do your part by washing your hands often for at least 20 seconds. For more information and a list of frequently asked questions concerning our reopening plan, visit www.hoffmantownchurch.org/reopen.

We understand that many of you may not feel comfortable or may have concerns about returning, and we want you to know that there is absolutely no pressure for you to attend on-site until you feel ready. We would encourage you to continue to be discerning if you are in a higher-risk category. If you currently have any symptoms or have been around anyone with coronavirus recently, we ask that you please stay home and watch online until you are free from symptoms or exposure to COVID-19.

We will continue to stream our service live on Hoffmantown.OnlineFacebook, and YouTube, and we’d love for you to join us on any of those platforms. For those that decide to join us in person, we look forward to seeing you again!

If you experience technical issues on any of our platforms while watching the Sunday stream, the best thing to do is hit the refresh button at the top of your web browser window. If the issue persists, you can switch to one of our alternative streaming platforms. All of our streaming links are available on the front page of hoffmantownchurch.org.

ADULT FAMILY MINISTRIES

Tuesday Afternoons

Tuesday Afternoons is a time for widows and widowers to come together and study the Word of God, pray together and join each other in fellowship and fun. Currently, we are having this event as a Zoom meeting. Our next Zoom get-together is on Tuesday July 28 from 1:30-3pm.  For questions, or if you don’t have the Zoom link, please contact afm@hoffmantown.org or 858-8633.

Daily Prayer Reminder

Remember, 6pm we pray! Each and every day! We are praying for our new pastor, our pastor search team, and our church family. This is one way we can pray together as a church body during this time of sheltering in place.

STUDENT & FAMILY MINISTRIES

Student Home Groups

High school students and Mid-school students will be meeting every 1st and 3rd Sunday. They will be meeting this Sunday via Zoom. Please join us. For information in joining us, please email us at Students@hoffmantown.org.

Vacation Bible School LOCATION CHANGE

We will be meeting indoors in the Worship Center. We are changing over to a Family Style Evening VBS on the nights of July 27, 29, 31 6:30-8pm for families with kids 3 years-8th grade. (Younger and Older Siblings are welcome, but will not receive a craft pack.) Safety is always our priority for Kids events at Hoffmantown. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we do not believe we can safely perform VBS in the method we normally do. During this VBS, each child must have an adult with them at all times. Families will be sitting together and all the teaching, game directing, music, etc. will be done from a stage. So, we no longer need class specific volunteers, but we do have a need for people to help with check-in, set-up/ tear-down, greeting, and safety crew. If you are able to serve, please contact Sarah Goodrich at 858-8601 or sarahg@hoffmantown.org. Registration and more information can be found at https://www.hoffmantownchurch.org/vbs/. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

All Aboard Kids Express!

Our school year will be filled with thrilling learning experiences and there are sure to be growing opportunities around each bend! It’s not too late to register, but we have limited space still available. Please drop off your registration packet at the front Receptionist Desk of Hoffmantown Church Monday-Thursday from 8am-4pm. For more information, contact Darlene Dickson at darlened@hoffmantown.org or 858-8602.

“Qualifications for Council membership are based upon the character qualities similar to those found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and Colossians 3:5-25, with the exception of gender references, and with consideration given to specific expertise in specialized areas.” (Excerpt from the Bylaws, Article V, Section 5).
