October is Pastor Appreciation Month

God has instructed us to recognize His servants. As brothers and sisters in Christ, may we come alongside our pastors and elders to encourage and help them and faithfully hold them up in prayer every day! Please take time to pray for and encourage them as the Lord leads you. “But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction, and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another.” –1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

Thank you for your understanding and cooperating in driving slowly and always watching for pedestrians, particularly children.

PRAYING THE BIBLE by Donald S. Whitney

Who hasn’t struggled with prayer at times? Too often we pray the same things about the same things, or we are at a loss for words or focus. In Praying the Bible, author Donald S. Whitney describes a simple yet effective method for focusing our prayer using Scripture. This short and practical book lays simple method for praying using Scripture as our starting point. In doing so, it not only exalts the God of Scripture and His holy, inspired, inerrant Word, it gives the reader a clear focus on God as they approach Him in prayer. The simplicity of it is the beauty of it. This book was recommended by our guest speaker from early September, Derrick Lynch.
