Mission Council Letter to the Hoffmantown Congregation

Dress a Girl New Mexico

Have you ever looked at your old suitcase and wondered how God could use that to show His love for the world?

Well, the folks at Dress a Girl New Mexico (DGNM) did. Over a hundred hand-made dresses will fit into your old suitcase. Your old suitcase can travel to far away places where the dresses will be given to girls in Jesus’ name by fellow Christians on a missions trip. Clever.

Jesus desires us to love our neighbor and commands us go and make disciples of all nations. Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? James 2:15-16

Dress A Girl New Mexico seeks to give girls in need of clothes a dress to show that God loves them and that gift will be accompanied by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The goal is to see people saved!

Dress A Girl New Mexico are Ambassadors for Dress A Girl Around The World. Dresses are the result of God’s provisioning, moving Christians to give of their time, talent, and treasure and orchestrating the process by many hands to cut fabric, sew dresses, and transportation to one of His precious daughters. DGNM’s first year saw 10 dresses go out in Operational Christmas Child (OCC) boxes, last year 3672 dresses were given in Mexico, Africa, Poland, Honduras, Guatemala, Spain, native Americans in NM, refugees in Dallas/Ft Worth, and OCC boxes.

Hoffmantown, please pray for this ministry! Please ask God to reveal how you can support His work through Dress A Girl New Mexico. DGNM has offered to provide dresses for Hoffmantown’s OCC boxes and dresses for our members going on the upcoming Uganda Medical Mission Trip. DGNM offers and will lead a sewing class here at Hoffmantown. They will bring kits ready to sew. This class would be a great step toward bringing our folks together routinely to sew dresses or make kits to bless DGNM, and will surely bless the participants 10-fold. Please visit the Dress A Girl New Mexico website, http://dressagirlnewmexico.org/. They accept donations of fabric, buttons and stuff, dollars, and SUITCASES. For more information or have questions, you can contact us at Missions@hoffmantown.org.
